Re: New Legislation Regarding Licensing

When my local authority can collect the bins more than once a month or even grit the back roads I will begin to worry about them implementing these proposed regulations!
Its complete pie in the sky.

Please consider supporting this. I think it is a cause where falconers could really have a positive impact on the status of this glorious quarry.

I've just got back from visiting the inaugural Snipe Festival in Ireland, including the launch of the Snipe Conservation Alliance. It was great to enjoy such friendliness, hospitality and...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the report. Well done on the snipe. I know it's not the classic way to catch them but some of the best flights Ive seen up on the fells here were the wild haggard tiercels...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Glorious opening with just the faintest breath of breeze for the dog. We were hoping for a woodcock but made do with another brace of snipe. Is there a better looking crop full for man or falcon than...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Nice dogs Dave, she looks like she was backing for a certain length of time?

Still not working Tony. Your tiercel must have some horsepower to chase them down like that. Pretty impressive in...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Ross,
No not this season. Concentrating on making a dog fit to fly over. When I'm happy with her I'll get another tiercel. I am kind of enjoying the break from it. Hopefully next season I'll be...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Chris,

It doesn't have a manufacturers name on it so I don't know to be honest. It's open choked so I tend to miss the birds I aim at and drop the ones I didnt know were there! It's a good gun...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Steve,

From what I've seen if grouse and pigeons are like a forest fire in scent then snipe are like a match that was put out an hour ago!
There is far less scent with them. The ambient...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

It took us 12 points and a big beat to get it done but I managed to shoot a brace of snipe over my GWP today. She's only 8 months old but is so unflappable and easy to train that I thought why not...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Great stuff Tony,

I've shot a few snipe recently and hold out hope I might shoot one or two over the pup before the seasons out. A couple from the other day being prepared for an hors deuve. I...

Mike,

I chose to spend the festive period engaged with family, friends and falconry and endeavouring to positive thoughts to most men/women.

Great shot Tony,

What can look better than a peregrine holding one those little bars of gold.

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Tony,

Well done in the snipe and thanks for filming some of it. Please more of that! Great rough pastures. A kind of a nice problem to have; your bird up a tree eating a snipe but I'm sure...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Tony,

A great result over the young dog. Obviously i hope you get him back. It's a shame it's likely to be his preferred dining table the more he does it. Not sure what you can do. Thank god...

Re: Snipe Hawking 14/15

Hi Tony,

I've seen plenty of setters that would back anything that stood still and most of them were sticky on the flush too. Ok for shooting over or having a net dragged over their back which is...
