I fell into the trap of thinking brown feathers were immature feathers when in fact they were actually sun bleached feathers from haggards which had missed or not fully moulted as is often the case...

I've noticed that occassionally, in spite of going through all the correct proceedures for calibration, connecting to GPS etc., that the green lights don't go to the normal flickering...
