Kestrels can survive very cold weather, after all they are native to the UK, they need to be up off the ground and have some shelter to get out of the wind and rain.

I kind of agree with whats been said about the Pheasant situation, they can be very difficult for a young hawk to come to terms with and could affect his confidence, I would concentrate on rabbits...

Sudocrem is great stuff and I have used it on hawks in the past, any small cut or graze when out in the field can be treated immediately

Thats great, well on your way now, walking around woods is a great way to enter him, infact I was having trouble entering a young male and took that advice off Mattspar on here,
