have not read all of this so may have been mentioned. if you do have your bird out , you must be there first light BUT if you near a area with street lights the bird will move around alot...

Hi jak , if its all blockwork walls , then better opiton is swimming pool paint or a good rubber based floor paint.;-)

soffit is not designed for this use , firstly you need to build a very good frame to put on , will not tolerate storms as wall build, goes brittle when old . and the price isnt favourable. ...
