Rearing a Gos with a hh won't alter the goshawk much it will just think it's a hh but will still behave lie a gos.

They other thing to consider is that steel shoud only be used in guns proofed for steel shot so most older guns shouldn't use it.

The only way to hunt squirrel is with a shotgun. I go out a few times a year and shoot as many as possible then there are less for the hawk to see
