It works, there is no doubt.

What worries me is that most supermarket honey is rubbish. Bees are fed bowls of sugerwater to up production. Organic honey is whats needed. In the UAE it costs AED 250 for a 500ml jar. Its worth it though. You can also use it as a disinfectant, wound healing ointment and in your tea! :Č)

If you put it in the fridge and it becomes sugary, its not the real stuff.

Jannes,

The organic honey that you use, is it organic clover honey or just an organic honey? The best honey that I have used if wild berry honey.

Does your use of honey also result in better feathers at the end of the moult?

Salman, I was given a bottle of Samur honey. Its made by the small local bees from a type of Acacia found here. It induced a full moult over 4 months in my Golden Eagle. She had all 12 tail feathers and some primaries growing out at the same time. Ive posted pics in the Kiran thread. I also believe it helped her beat asper the first time.

Regards
Jannes

Perfect plumage.

Griff gave me the tip. He swore by clover honey, but that was maybe from his own experience. I think any proper organic honey will do.

I have to be clear that I didnt conduct a scientific experiment. I just bowl fed the bird daily of this honey mixed into rat, quail, egg yoke and some Vitahawk.

Her feet yellowed, her weight went up, her asper subsided and her feathers fell out!
