I suggest start with this book, decide if you really want an owl and go from there.

Best owl to start with?

A Harris Hawk.

Or another broad wing.
Serious.

Do you know anyone to help you?

I would look for details of your local club before checking the For Sale ads.

Owls you need to imprint to get the best from them. So you would have to wait for a this years bird. But if you want a bird to fly and hunt you need to be thinking about something different than an owl.

It's not a decision to rush take your time do your research then decide.
