Durham City!

Doing falconry for 2 years with another falconer and looking to get my first bird this year (but need to take over the garden first [for housing])

And Stevie I'm sure you will find someone who should live local or fly's local who can help you, i started from a falconry coarse ran by a local small falconry centre in Durham and have continued to fly with the same falconer (i would class him as a good Friend now,as well as a mentor).

I think the next step for me is to actually train a hawk myself now!!!

Hey,
I'm from Hartlepool and really just looking to learn alot more about them, I've seen a few displays and read a few books, but no hands on experience unfortunately.

I would love to get a bird, but will not try to train it or in fact get it if I can't find a mentor who is willing to show me at least the basics. I have a car so don't mind having to go anywhere throughout the north east.

Many Thanks
Paul Marsey

Go to the BFC website and click on the online application form. Then go to Paypal button and make payment - alternative methods available.

THe cost is ú55 a year. Website tells you what you get for that money.

With all the expense that goes with getting your hawk, you may wish to consider that sooner rather than later.

PM me if you want further info, save cloggng up thread.

Sue

I have just received a kestrel from a vet as it was handed in and she knew I already had a harris hawk.

I have been in touch with the rspca to see if it has been reported lost, it does have a ring on.

It does belong to someone..... but who?

If anyone can help or give me any info on how to trace the ring or any other help it would be greatly appreciated.

Contact the IBR.

DO NOT GIVE IT TO RSPCA or RSPCB

Thay have little experience with birds of prey, and have been known to kill whilst in their care.

I'll find a link with IBR info

Sue

IBR on 0161 790 5613 or email barbara@ibr.org.uk.
