Hi Wes

Nice to meet you and the family after all this time chatting.

I think the timing could not have been better and it will be good for the eggs to have some communication with Mum and Dad prior to hatching.

I would expect you will have one hatch in a day or two and them both be hatched before the end of the week.

I have always found Redtails and Buzzards to be very good parents and I am sure their natural instincts will kick in and look after them.

If the Redtails raise these Harris ok they will make an excellent project for anyone interested in trying with a Harris x Red itĺs a pity there was not young reds in the same nest.

Fingers crossed for you Wes keep us posted

ATB

Clive

Some great news! First egg is hatching right now and my female is 100% back in brood mode. Had a panic moment when it looked like she was eating the chick but shes actually just eating the shell

I'm thinking of starting a new thread to document with pics Red's rearing Harris Hawks.

That's great to hear Wes, especially after the shaky start you have with the Red eggs. It would be good to have another thread, it will be interesting to see how this progresses and what happens considering the circumstances. Fingers crossed that the other egg hatches and that the parents care for the chicks well!

Best Wishes,

Bradley
