Default Botswana

While most people couldn't point out Botswana on a map. This beautiful country offers a great opportunity for aspiring falconers and bird abatement specialists around the world. Every cropping season, the Pandamatenga Bird Abatement Project sponsors paid internships for people with some form of raptor experience. Interns learn hands on handling, care, training and flying of our abatement falcons. The projects focus is on protecting commercial farms from red-billed quelea. The internships provide paid travel, housing, transport and stipend and usually starts from March/April to June/July(varies yearly).
Pandamatenga is located in the Chobe region of Botswana and has some of the best game viewing in the world. The farming area is about 45,000 hectares and near the Chobe National Park. Sites worth seeing nearby include Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta, and the Kalahari Desert to name a few. Anyone interested in learning more can email bwbirdabatement@gmail.com.
