Default From New Brunswick Canada?

Hello. I just thought I would say hello as I'm new here. I live in New Brunswick Canada and am 'very' GREEN as far as falconry is considered.

I'm a mom of two teens and finally have time to pursue the art of falconry as I've wanted to for so many years. I'm currently in the "research and learning" stage.

I look forward to hearing and learning for all of you

Bev

Hi Bev, welcome on the IFF and in the world of falconry! It is always great to see another Canadian on board, and a woman on top of it, it couldn't be better!

Hi Bev, Welcome to the IFF. Thanks for filling your profile in, it really helps other members to answer your question. I see that you have Dan as a friend, so I'm sure you'll get lots of good advice! Have you given any thought about when or what type of bird you would like?

If you have any questions or problems don't hesitate to PM me and I'll do my best to sort them out for you.

but for now, enjoy the forum.

Simon

Hi Bev;

Glad to see another eastern hawker! Welcome aboard and the best of luck. Feel free to PM me when ever you like. Glad to see Dan with another student. I got training and a red-tailed hawk from him and she is working out just great!

Cheers From Newfioundland;

Bill and Tina

Hi Bev:

First, you need to look at your terrain, open, closed, semi-open, scrub, then you need to look at the game that's in your area, you need to be able to get 6-12 flights per day at the game you want to hunt. To sum it up is: What bird you fly initially is based on terrain & game abundance, unless yer interested in lure flying and public education. What raptor you choose is based on the above and your level of exp, until the above is defined I couldn't recommend a raptor to start with.
