well its a result mate ,i did say pull them early ,in regards to the youngster your rearing just remember if your unaware that a hh reared in this way is often excellent if done right but needs no weight reduction whatsoever ,if you do so you will ruin it and create problems ,next season i would look at creche rearing which is an even better option ,if you can get hold of
"the countrymans weekly " either online or hard copy ,the guy who taught me falconry 45 years ago and is second to none and one of the UK pioneers in hh breeding ,Stuart Wilkinson ,has written an excellent article on the matter well worth a read

Mine reared two this season ,shes sat on infertile eggs at the moment with the 10 week old youngsters in the pen ( infertile because mine are reared open fronted and shes gets up and down off eggs more with eyasses in the pen with her )which i'm happy with as i dont want another clutch as it will interfere with their hunting time

I would stop feeding chick as a food source , the female must have been fed a chick only diet in past I have seen it so many times with Harris Hawks and some Falcons
