Default Microwave defrost

Dear all,
Does any one of you know if it is harmful to defrost the frozen food (mainly quail) in the microwave and feed the falcon ?

I've never tried it with hawk food, but whenever I try it with meat for home use the edges of the meat seem to get cooked slightly.
I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks a lot,
Falconers in my country think that it is one cause of aspergillosis because food remains cold from inside and can badly harm the immune system. not sure about it.
