Default Redtails

Hi I'm flying a kestrel at the moment but I'd like to fly a Redtail next season is there anyone in the Sheffield area that flies one and could help me get to know more about their general care and handling.

That's a bit of a leap there, try to get out with some reds beforehand, they certainly can't be handled as you might a kestrel and the regime for a hunting hawk, reds in particular is quite different

So nobody has a redtail around here or is it just nobody is willing to mentor a stranger? I get that but I'm not going to steal your birds. I'd just appreciate some mentoring before I go ahead and get a bird. Don't get me wrong I'm willing to learn and willing to help out with things but if I have to do it the hard way so be it.

Are there any local falconry groups you can join sure you could get some pointers or even a mentor through that?

Mr. Pete, I fly a F. Redtail, out Thursday, brought a rabbit home. Combined age of 85yrs!! Been trying to be a Falconer for 46yrs. You are most welcome to visit / inspect and meet, unfortunately I am in the Lincolnshire Wolds so to far to mentor. I do know a competent Falconer near you. Ian.
