Lol. There's still a few about. My brother helps out on a big shoot so meets quite a few farmers. He's ferreting hedge lines. No Rabbits like there used to be though. I caught 156 in one season with a female Goshawk when I was about 20. She killed 203 head that year !

However I do k know a few places your way. I'll pm you them.

Regards Terry

As I get Older the head count for the season does not hold as much importance, but triple figures used to be obtainable. I worked at Colchester Zoo in the late 80's and Birch Estate used to bring in 300-400 Rabbits per week, they would shoot that number in one night. Seems hard to believe nowadays.

Yes I agree. I'm not bothered about head count anymore either. It comes with age and time served in the sport doesn't it. Long gone are the days of being overjoyed to catch Hare or big bag of rabbits.

I used to be a real die hard when younger! Just had to get another kill, my mates used to always joke whether I had the lamp just in case I needed to push on into the darkness Just being able to be out in our glorious Countryside is enough satisfaction now as long as you do have success now and then for the well being of your Hawk all is well.

Hello Bryn

Just to say thank you for the Belgiumanic beers you brought for me. No need, but much appreciated. Very strong !!

I collected our deer. I've butchered one completely. The first one. A back leg was damaged and some ribs one side, but okay other than that.

Nice to meet up. He's great our Lee boy eh....

Your very welcome to come and hunt when you can

Regards

Terry
