The RSPB are nothing but a pack of liers and money grabbing *****.
I am not saying all members off course, they make their living from propaganda and convincing mr and mrs jones that something is endangered and the RSPB can "help".

You would not believe some of the stuff the RSPB have come up with over the years, and how much money the government give the RSPB every year out of tax payers money, you would be chocked!!

The registration is long time overdue to a serious shake up, but with DEFRA still choosing to listen to the RSPB rather then the actual specialists, Im afraid we will just get more hammered.

Our case officer did confirm for me they are removing some species of registration, but what and when she could not say....

Hi TERRY
Jeff, You may well be correct but all the info I have been given is that I will be pleased with the end result. Decisions have already been agreed but the Chairman of the Hawk Board will not tell me what they are as I am not a member of the HB and it all has to be kept secret until the Minister announces it so any Member of the Hawk Board who is giving out information like this could end up in trouble. WE still have to consider Merlin's, Hobbies etc and we will have to wait until an announcement has been made before we can decide if the move is good or bad. There was some talk last year about a paper that Nick Fox put together looking into the possibility of a two tier system for Peregrines that would remove proven captive bred Peregrines but retain Imported and Wild Peregrines on the list.
I have not attended any meetings for over a year so I do not know for sure how things are going. A meeting with DEFRA is being set up at the moment but as the breeding season is starting early this year most of us will not be able to attend.
Terry

I couldn't agree with you more on that one,the bird world would be a lot better place if the RSPB was closed down for good......

Overall you are correct but the RSPB are just too powerful they are Multi Million ú land owners that could survive on the land rents they receive alone but they are still asking the ill informed public for more money by way of donations etc. They still keep giving out their cheap propaganda to the public about how they are saving this bird or that bird when in fact they are stealing the Birds they are supposed to protect and shipping them out of the UK, like the Golden Eagles going to Ireland.
There is good and bad in all organizations and I think it is fair to say that the RSPB have more than their fair share of bad apples, such as their investigations section that try to take many innocent Falconers to Court claiming that the DNA Profiles of their birds do not match when in fact for over 10 years they and DEFRA have known that the probes they are using to gain convictions do not work. The evidence of this will soon be revealed to us all but that is another story.
