Default Scotland Hunting Please Read

This has just been received from Andrew Knowles-Brown Scottish Hawk Board.
Terry

Hi All
I have had clarification on how visitors to Scotland stand with the different tiers of registration that will take effect in the UK from 1.10.08.
Any visitor from the UK outwith Scotland that visits Scotland on a temporary basis with a bird that is still on Sch 4 in Scotland after 1.10.08 will NOT need to register it in Scotland or apply for a temporary import licence. Any non UK resident visiting Scotland after 1.10.08 will need to apply for a temporary import licence (as presently needed) for the full current Sch 4 species list until new legislation is formed and implemented, once that has taken place then only the species on the new reduced Sch 4 list need to have a temporary import licence. No time frame has been given as to how long it will take to draft and implement the new legislation, but I am assured it will be happening soon.

Thanks for the info Terry. Do you know if this applies to Wales as well? (for displays as well as hunting)

We have not had an answer from Wales yet Griff but they have said they will fall in line with Scotland and England.

I have heard nothing that would make me think there will be any changes regarding Game Licenses for Scotland but we never know what is around the corner do we?
