Steve you should hold your head up mate, that Eagle was doing what he's born to do and you are one of a few on here that truly gets out there and lives the sport and gets the best out of his birds.I would sooner fly a bird hard and lose it in action than see some of these birds nailed to a perch for months even years on end and have no quality of life. They may live a long life but are they happy? Its very sad that you lost him so prematurely especially when you have put so much effort in with him.I hope that you can get back in the saddle and get yourself a new Eagle.
If I can help in any way at all Steve don't hesitate to get in touch,ATB.
You have to keep going Steve its what we do
Thanks Mark, I did think he would out live me, not sure about another eagle, that road has claimed two birds now, stick with the peregrines for now, that's why I like keeping more than one bird flying, Murphy is always around the corner, but never say never.

Well young Brad, its simple when your a falconry junkie, more birds & more falconry, are you sure you want in still? it can be an obsession, that takes over your life, here's my tiercel yesterday.
I think it has already become an obsession for me, I do everything I can to be around Raptors and work with them. It is always a risk that is taken but from all the good, enjoyable times you seem to have got out of your time with Mr Bolts, I've never been more sure in one day having the same amazing experience with a bird of my own.

Oh, it'll take a while Steve, but for now at least we can get to fly slightly less than perfect passage Peregrines etc....and make them perfect again, and that'll do for me, for now
