They are not pets, or domestic fowl, not even wild game birds. They are in the same class as horses, canines.
Then according to the exports numbers with infection rates to both human & domestic fowl there virtually no threat to Canadians. Out side of federal ignorance and harassment of a world a human cultural activity.

Bird flu is caused by a type of influenza virus that rarely infects humans. More than a dozen types of bird flu have been identified, including the two strains that have most recently infected humans — H5N1 and H7N9.
Outbreaks of bird flu have occurred in Asia, Africa, North America and parts of Europe. Most people who have developed symptoms of bird flu have had close contact with sick birds. In a few cases, bird flu has passed from one person to another. Only sporadic human cases have been reported since 2015.(Cornell)

Although bird flu may kill more than half the people it infects, the number of fatalities is still low because so few people have had bird flu. Fewer than 500 bird flu deaths have been reported to the World Health Organization since 1997.

So your protecting us from fleas when lions are eating us ? Great job justification especially when you can hoodwink the pubic while justifying your yearly budget. All politics, money and no abstract sciences based on fact. Just like the Liberals to do this, not what is right for Canadians but wasn't them to really work, support internatural cultural activities or support a hunting activity. The BNA and HR with our constitution all indicate you are discrimatory in actions !
