Default R.I.P Greg

It is with great sadness that I am posting this thread, (initially to OFC in order to keep it respectful).

I received the bad news today that Greg Butler has passed away.
Will be sadly missed by many.

No further details known at present.

Sue

That is a real shock. I was chatting to him on Wednesday night on Facebook. He was looking forward to his son's wedding on the 10th of this month, and flying out to the USA for a few months hawking. His wife and family must be devastated.

Never met him, but corresponded regularly. A real gent, and a man I admired. He was having trouble with a bad knee, and had postponed the operation until after his US trip. |We had some funny exchanges about that and many other things.

I will miss our "chats". RIP Greg, you will be missed by many.

Can't believe it.

I met Greg a number of times - but years ago.

This is truly shocking news. I enjoyed reading his posts and dreaming of flying big hybrids in the Cumbrian hills.

Good God, I am so sorry to read this. Greg has always been someone I have had utmost respect for, and what a wonderful sense of humour, a friend without doubt. I can't quite believe what I've just read.

Heard this from BFC sources this morning, John.
I only met him a few times, and although I didn't know him that well, everyones feelings are the same.

I will move thread later on this evening, but just thought we could gather our thoughts before I do that.

I've just seen a post from his nephew on his facebook page. It must have happened last night.

Still can't believe it. Just seen his last message to me at 12.45 am yesterday, "Talk soon".
