Default Lewis Giles Thistlethwaite

If anyone knows this guy from Croston, Lancashire or has any future dealing with him PLEASE AVOID.
I have just taken a Male Goshawk from that is in the worst condition I have ever ever seen a bird.
No Tail feathers and no primary tips 1lb 5.5oz in weight, sharp as a razor, gave a sob story on Birdtrader and on the phone talked how amazing the bird is etc etc.
I shouldn't have paid the rest of the money for the bird but there was no way I was going to leave him with that idiot.
Claimed he had had the bird for a few years but the reality is that I contacted the original breeders (MALTBY) and they explained the bird was full imprint out of silver parents, hunted at 1lb 10oz and that he had only purchased it from them in September/October 2017.
I have managed over the last few weeks to get some weight back on the bird but have had to deal with a foot infection due to ****** rock solid old anklets that have been left on forever.
If anyone knows this guy please could you tell him from me that he is a D______d
I have contacted all of the appropriate authorities with hope that they never let him keep any birds ever again. I hope that at some point I can get this bird something like its former self before this idiot had hold of him. Who keeps a Goshawk un-tethered, razor sharp in a open pen that clearly had mesh frontage as the bird has smashed itself to pieces. Fortunately I had it when I did as another week at the weight it was at and it would have been dead. Hes been in my kitchen for the last 2 weeks on baytril.
Absolutely disgraceful

Good for you for taking the bird on. I hope he comes around to full health and good condition again. Unfortunately there seem to be quite a few Goshawks kept like this due to the radical price drop that has happened over the past few years.

Why did they sell him the hawk and what responsibility do they take for a hawk bred by them coming to such a pass?

Unfortunately he passed away this morning. Anyone who thinks about getting any kind of bird please please do your research, ensure you have the right equipment, enclosures and more importantly the time.

The coward won't answer his phone or reply to texts. Just shows what kind of bloke he is.... I don't think the e breeders are ultimately to blame as he talks a very good talk.
