Default Marshall 173 dial tone - advice anyine

Hi guys....just bought a marshall 173 receiver with scout tranmitter.... been testing the unit all the receiver approx once every 3mins picks up a dial tone, bit like you here on a old computer modem...only lasts approx5 seconds... my receiver/ transmitter doesn t seen to have any range to it...approx 500 yards from transmitter on wide filter and far range......also the receiver picks up the transmitter on channels 3,4 and 5. 5 being the strongest signal........any advice guys and girls.....

If I understand you correctly I don't think this will be as big a problem as you think IN THE FIELD - try it away from home and if you still have an issue call Steve Lea - telephone no on the Marshal Europe Website.

The 'modem' type noise is probably some kind of external interference. There is quite a lot of interference on 173MHz around where I live. I think its electric alarm systems and automated garage doors etc.

Ring Stephen about the tag - I think they can re-program them to transmit on a different channel if necessary.
